Her Life
February 15, 2016

Mrs. Loyette was born in Roanoke, Alabama on April 4, 1921, the first child of Odessa Avery Green and William Benson Green. At the age of seven, her beloved father passed away and little Loyette accepted a lot of the responsibility of caring for her three younger sisters so her mother could work. She was a member of the Big Springs Baptist Church in Woodland, Alabama and loved spending much of her time reading her bible. She was retired from the Playtex Manufacturing Company. After her retirement she used her sewing skills to make beautiful quilts. Her favorite pastime was growing beautiful flowers which she enjoyed sharing with others. During her lifetime she had four husbands whom she loved and cared for through ill health. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing delicious meals for all of them. Her care of each of them will long be remembered.

She is survived by two loving nephews, Ronnie Vinson of Five Points, AL., and Randy Vinson (Judy) of Roanoke, AL.; her devoted boy fiend, Ray Lashley also of Roanoke, AL.; and a much loved friend and caregiver, Brenda Teal of Franklin, GA…

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by four husbands; Vollie T. Hester, John Echols, L. B. Lewis, and Melvin Bailey; three sisters Sara Bob Lewis, Vissey Lee Craft, and Mary “Esther” Vinson.
