It's been a year dad. I pray you are soaring with the angels and resting from the troubles of life. The country has gotten worse dad, I know you would have been sorely disappointed and angry and state of affairs. People are still not dependable, I guess that is life. I pray as you watch over us your children we will excel and be great in our endeavours to make you proud. Rest on daddy!

Our DNA does not matter nor does our genes, nor our blood.
You were a wonderful Stepdad. You were jovial, fun to be with. You showed love, compassion and understanding.
You were extra nice to my siblings and I. You were always there to help whatever the need may be.
I remember vividly way back in the year
1973 - 1974 in our primary school days how we were chauffeur driven to school. We were the envy of our friends and school mates at that time as it was a rare privilege.
You were a beautiful stepdad with a wonderful heart.
We may have not been related by blood, but you loved us like your own.
I'll forever treasure the Memories.

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard but always near."
A Beautiful Soul is Never Forgotten.
Rest in peace Sir until the Resurrection Morning.

Daddy Col Jaiyeola lived a fullfilled life. Though, departed in flesh but his voice was strong enough hitherto and continue living even after his home call. His voice was full of strength, doggedness, triumph, hope, and above all unforgotten. Everything he said to me physically and on phone never fade away. Our voice is the symbol of our existence in this world and for a man to die without his voice is to forever live. To me, Daddy's voice outlived him. Invariably, he is not dead.

Not many people know this, but I had an excellent relationship with the Col. as we used to call him. The balcony of his house was a knowledge point for me as we would discuss many issues mostly the state of affairs of this country. I now look back at those moments in fondest memories.

You will be sorely missed sir and I have a firm believe that you are resting in the bosom of our Lord. There is time for everything and it was your time sir, Do rest in perfect peace.

I will always remember my first meeting with you, I had so much apprehension but your sense of humor and kindness put me at ease.
You have been kind and the best father in-law anyone can wish for.
Already missing you and those visits to Capitol road. I take solace in the fact that you are in a better place and you ran a good race. Adieu sir.

There goes a thoroughbred soldier and a gentleman. A man who served his fatherland with honour and gallantry. Nigeria just lost one of the few men of honour who truly served with dignity and earned every rank they wore. The spartan lifestyle and disciplined life you lived after retirement eloquently attest to your sterling qualities. We just lost a gem. An owu hero who represented upheld the dignity and steadfastness of the owu people. May angels offer you a guard of honour as you make a grand entry to the garrison of heaven omo olowu oduru. Omo aji fepe sere...yinka Akanbi.

The sands of humanity's timeline has been graced by heroes and diverse personalities. A father is one high on that list of heroes that walks the earth for a season and leave after their time is done.Daddy, you have been an emblem and and icon of strenght and discipline. Still i remember the echoes of your stern voice like the whip of the thunder. But most of all the childhood memories linger the most. You represent a bulwark of strenght and Since your passing I have heard many say you are a man that prioritize progress and love to see the best in people. The people whom you have impacted and the memories of who you are lives on and though you are not here with us again. You live forever in our hearts and one day in the future we will see at the feet of Christ and we won't have to miss you again for we will forever be with the Lord.

Daddy, I know you're in a better place, I also know that it must feel great for you, because you are in the one place where you don’t need to be the strong man you always were…
There was not one day or moment of weakness with you, and as a child that filled me with so much pride and confidence.
My family and I will miss you, Toni and Titobi will definitely miss the treats that were always readily available when they came to visit.
Foluke will miss your quick wit and dry humor. The stories you told us whenever we came over were amazing and we will always cherish those memories.
I will never forget certain special moments we shared in my childhood, they showed me that your strength was drawn from a tender core.
Rest on daddy, you live forever in our hearts.

It's surreal to know I will not hear my phone ring and see daddy flashing on the screen or hear the incurable optimist in you after every conversation that all will be well, that nothing good or bad lasts forever. Thank you for being the best you could be daddy and for the lives you touched while here on earth. I will miss you the perfect gentleman, Soldier and Confidant. Rest now sir, rest on in peace.
