Mrs. Lucille Lucas Harris was born October 15, 1912 to the late Mr. Tom and Annie Bell Lucas of Union Springs, Alabama.

In January 1941 she was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. James “Sugar” Harris. At an early age she confessed Christ and joined the Second Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lucille Lucas Harris has a passion for fishing. Her other passion was love for her family. She loved being a mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Clara Bell Shepherd and three sons, James Townsel, Frank Townsel and Clifford Townsel.

On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, Mrs. Lucille Lucas Harris departed this life leaving many to not only miss her but to cherish the 101 years of blessings God bestowed upon her.

Mrs. Lucille Lucas Harris will forever be remembered, loved and cherished by her loving children, Joel Townsel, Atlantic City, NJ, George (Mattie) Townsel, Rethelle Ellerbe, Alice Jones Montgomery, AL, Willie J. Harris, Donald (Regina) Harris, Lucile (Rafford) Smith and Oscar Harris, all of Union Springs, AL; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Josephine Harris, Union Springs, AL; twenty-five grandchildren; a host of great and great-great grandchildren; many friends and loved ones.
