Her Life
November 9, 2014

Lucy Smith-Jones was born January 26, 1944 to the late Lewis and Carrie Lou Smith. She accepted Christ at a very early age and joined St. John A.M.E. Church where she served faithfully until her death.

Lucy was affectionately known as “Sister” to many and “Gamp” to her grandchildren. Lucy was and always will be very special to her family. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her knew she was strong, independent, humbled, caring and filled with gratitude.

On Tuesday, November 4, 2014, before the break of dawn, Lucy’s earthly journey became complete and God called her home to rest. For God had prepared a place for her, so that where He is, there Lucy will be also.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Jones and one daughter, Nadean Smith.
