Such a sweet woman!

I have so many fond and loving memories of Lucy.  I got to know her as a Mother-in-law to my sister and Lulu to Kate and she brought such love, warmth and tenderness to all of us.  Her smile when looking at her loved ones will forever be the picture in my heart of Lucy.  I am honored to know all of the Harper family and love you all!

The wisdom of Lucy

Lucy didn't make demands but she did make "suggestions". Sometime time ago she announced "We don't have that much time left so we better enjoy each other now"
We did and I'm thankful.

A KSU Kappa

I have not seen Lucy since she graduated from Kansas State but yet how strange our worlds have still been intertwined ... from Manhattan, Kansas (where we lived in the Kappa house together) to Princeton, New Jersey (where my son went to college).  While in college one of my son's best friends was darling Sarah Porter.  Fast forward to when we learned that Sarah was  marrying a Kansas boy with a KSU mom and even better, a Kappa! I regret that Lucy and I never re-connected for a long visit and a glass of wine,  but it brings me such joy to know that she had a wonderful daughter-in-law in Sarah.  It's easy to see from the photos that those grandchildren brought her much deserved happiness.  As a grandmother myself it saddens me to think how much she will be missed by those sweet young'uns as well as by her son and Sarah.  Sending my prayers and condolences to the entire Harper family.
Rest in Peace dear Lucy.
