A year ago today you left us Lucy to be with the Lord. That huge void created by your absence is still felt. We know that in all things we must give thanks to God, so we thank God for knowing such a beautiful soul as you. We thank God for sustaining us all especially Ebo, Jesse and Annie in the past 12 months. We miss you terribly Lucy - your voice, your charm, your laughter and sense of humour! Continue to rest peacefully till we meet again.

Aba dear, I struggle to write what I really feel...I know our Lord Jesus welcomed you with a big warm embrace. But it's really really hard to accept that you are no longer here on earth. You fought a good fight. You were an exceptional mother. Most importantly, you loved the Lord. Aba Lu, you will always be beautiful. Forever loved by us. Korkor.

Lucy, it is so painful to see you go just like that. Amidst the grief we so feel at your tragedy, we also take comfort today in the profound memories of the truly lovely person, daughter, sister, cousin, wife, mother friend, chemist and teacher you are. An American writer once wrote “ When we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives, but are grateful for the abundance that’s present ….the wasteland of illusion falls away and we experience heaven on earth.” Your bright shining memory will out-live the darkness of this past few weeks and will inspire us all with courage at difficult times. We remember, your calm but vibrant presence, the thrill and example of your living life to the full, in acknowledgement of the grace of our God. Rest fully in perfect peace.

A Tribute to Lucy Mary -The Alphabet of Her Personality By Agnes Abrefa-Kugblenu Today we mourn the loss of a beloved friend who leaves a remarkable memory in our hearts and on our minds. Lucy Mary had a great personality that could be spelt out in the letters of the alphabet. An AMAZING woman, AMICABLE in every way, ADVENTUROUS in some way, BEAUTIFUL, inside and out, BRILLIANT to a tee, BRAVE you all can see, CARING came naturally to her and COURAGEOUS she was till the end. DEVOTED to her family and friends. DILIGENT without a bend. EXPERIENCED in her vocation., EXCELLING in every region of her life. EXEMPLARY model of a woman. FRIEND to all her mates , she had no foes, always willing to give a helping hand. GENEROUS all the time , the only thing she did not give out was what she did not have. GENTLE in Spirit , GRACIOUS at sight, HILARIOUS she was at times, often giving off a loud laughter. HAPPY was her permanent demeanor. HOPEFUL were her thoughts. INFUSED in love which she acquired from her parents , INSPIRING to others. JOYOUS was her spirit, JOCUND was her mood. JAUNTY as usual. KINDNESS clothed her being from childhood to adulthood LOVING with a warm embrace , anyone who knew her would attest to this. MOTHER to her children and sometimes to her mates, MENTOR to many children alike . MAJESTIC were the steps she took as I would often tease her, "only your galleys". NICE to everyone who came across her, NIFTY in every sense of the word. ORDERLY were her ways, keeping every thing in pristine condition. ORGANIZED she was always, PRIM and PROPER she appeared to be as a result of this.PATIENCE was one of the many gifts she possessed. POSITIVE were her thoughts from beginning to the end. QUIDDITY of life, QUIESCENT she remains now. RICH in talent and integrity, RADIANT throughout, RESILIENT to the end. SELFLESS by nature, STRONG by experience, SMART from birth till death. TENACIOUS was her spirit, TRIUMPH is her portion. UNIQUE was her style, UNDERSTANDING with a listening ear, VIRTUOUS she was throughout her lifetime. VICTORIOUS will she remain as God places the crown of Victory on her head. WARRIOR in every facet of the word. She fought the battle to the end. WONDERFUL was the manner in which she handled it. XENIA! It didn't matter who you were, YOUNG at heart, YOUTHFUL in soul, ZEALOUS , ZIPPY , she had a ZEST for life. "ZAFTIG" Lucy rest peacefully in the Lords arms. ZION awaits you!

Dearest Lucy, I had the absolute joy of knowing you through meeting and teaching your wonderful children, Jesse and Annie. Your hot banana cake was legendary in our house and my lads still talk fondly of me returning home laden with another loaf you had kindly baked. Your humility, your smile and your unending reserve of optimism will never leave me. Just be thankful that your beautiful children have gained those qualities unique to you. What a treasure you were. Sleep well my friend xxx

Mama Lu/Sis/Sweetheart; A good heart has stopped beating and a good soul ascended to heaven. You were a wonderful, gentle soul and good listener. Your smile would always pick me up as well as that famous banana bread and the special pancakes for breakfast after a sleepover. Your braveness and selflessness is already showing in Jesse and Annie. "Mama Lu like joke! Like joke!" Today you’re not where you were (sitting or sleeping on the sofa) but you will always be in my heart. I will always love you and the family. Keep on smiling Angel.

Angel's Wings, Lucy had strength That couldn't be bought While others would whimper, She stayed strong and fought. If she was suffering, Nobody would know. Well months passed, And minutes flew Her time was getting shorter, As her love for life grew. Well one day, God asked her To go get her wings And join him in paradise Doing heavenly things. Her friends would all miss her, her family, too. That charisma, that smile Making each day new Everyday we wake up And we pray to her loud, "Lucy, we hope You're having fun In the clouds." There were not many with a stronger character than you. You remained a fighter till you drew your last breath, but even when you knew the battle would require a miracle, your only though was for those around you and what support they would need. Truly selfless to the very end. For me you will always be symbolised by three words 'NOT A LOT' Rest in perfect peace in the arms of the Lord. You will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Dearest Lucy, You are the kindest most beautiful soul anyone could ever wish for as a friend. Your vibrancy, your love of life; Your infamous smile and humour that could always brighten the darkest of times; Your elegance and your beauty; All in abundance – and yet complimented with such grace and humility. The strength and dignity you drew from your ever eternal faith was beyond compare and continues on through Joe, Jesse and Annie. I often called you my “Superwoman”, and was in awe of your undeniable courage and hope. I shall miss our walks in the sunshine putting the world to rights, our catch up cuppa’s, more launches of the fabulous “Aunty Lucy’s” banana bread bake sales with Annie and Megan – and of course those ladies nights out! “Carpe Diem” was your motto, and you certainly did - with both hands! Little did we know then what the future held and that just one week ago that I would be sharing my most privileged and treasured moments with you, which of course involved your love of music! So until we hold hands again Lucy, take comfort in the legacy you have left to so many. Safe journey and God bless, Love always, Jacqui, Mark, Connor & Megan xx

Lucy and I first crossed paths at work. Her humour and zest for life were infectious. It was an absolute pleasure to spend time in her company. I can honestly say that she was one of the kindest, most caring people that I have ever met. I hope that she can now rest in peace, having fought so courageously Love and best wishes to all her family at this tragic time. xx
