Lydia Mae Daniel Bryant, 87, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at Duke Medical Center.

A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late John Garland and Germania Hall Daniel.  She was a member of Butner First Baptist Church serving as pianist for over forty years.  She was a retired Accounting Supervisor at John Umstead Hospital.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Butner First Baptist Church by Rev. Lenny Rogers and Rev. Mac Thompson.  Entombment will be private in the Daniel family cemetery.

Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Joe Leonard Bryant Jr. of the home, a daughter, Susanne Bryant Brooks of Creedmoor, two sons, Joe Leonard Bryant III (Peggy) of Dunedin, Florida, John Lewis Bryant (Vicki) of Creedmoor, nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Harold Daniel and James Daniel. The family would like to thank her caregiver, Joyce Broach.

Flowers accepted or memorials be made to Butner First Baptist Church, PO Box 44, Butner, North Carolina 27509.

Visitation will be held Monday evening, December 10, 2012 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM at the Butner First Baptist Church and other times at the home.

Aunt Lydia Mae always loved unconditionally. I can remember as a child when things were chaotic Aunt Lydia Mae would always try to help make sense of the craziness. I was able to see so much of her in my Dad. The Daniel's are definitely known for their "fiesty" spirit, loyalty to their families and love!!! Another generation in the heavens to watch and guide us.....

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this difficult time. I worked with "Miss Lydia" for years at JUH and treasured her friendship. Take comfort in knowing she is resting in peace.
