Her Life
January 10, 2013

Lydia Clenda Coverson, known to her close friends and family as “Lit”, was born December 27, 1948 in Luthersville, Georgia, to the late Sarah Dix and Andrew Dix. She was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.

She joined the Macedonia Baptist Church in Grantville, Georgia at an early age. She graduated from Greenville Consolidated High School in 1966. Later she went back to school and attained her Associates Degree from West Georgia Technical College. Shortly after her graduation, Lydia went to work full time as an Administrative Assistant at West Georgia Technical College, where she remained until her retirement in 2009.

Even though Lydia was a woman of very few words, she enjoyed reading and was known for her special cake baking ability. She adored her family, her children, cherished her grandchildren and showed love through her actions. She was not a fan of confusion or chaos and always strived to keep the peace.

Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Coverson, and her sisters Dorothy Dix and Wilmatine Clark. She is survived by her loving children, Michael (Cynthia) Coverson; Clenda (Kenneth) Scales; Metria (Brian) Richardson; Yolanda Coverson, Twyla Coverson; four grandchildren: Mikayla Coverson, Kennedi Scales, Rhian Richardson, Trinity Scales; siblings, Ben (Ola) Dix, and Sarah (Lamar) Ector and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
