Lydia Elizabeth Mixon was born.

Lydia Smith, 78, of Richmond, died January 19, 2001. She is survived by her sons, Arthur, John, Jerry and Ricky Smith; daughters, Jane Perkins and Karen Abrahamian; and their spouses; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson. She was a member of Courts of Praise Church. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Home's Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull St. Rd., where the family will receive friends 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Courts of Praise Church Building Fund.
