MY AUNTY MY MUM MY FRIEND
I never knew any Aunty as loving as Aunty Tinuola popularly known as Mummy Ife. Her name in our household when spoken is like licking honey and when you are approved for any Holiday in her house at Ife, you feel like you have won a Jackpot and Solid Gold your reward.
My family is large, most of us have sojourned with her. She took care of us like her very own, she pampered us and never will you see any strain on her face and her husband's face as she feeds and cared for us,she loved us and as for me, she was my supporter and friend whenever my Mum wanted to pick on me. Tinuola as her sister fondly called her and she responded 'sister' was a rare gem, a breed apart, Kind to a fault. She gave me all the Love a daughter could possibly deserve. She took me in when I was admitted at OSCAS ,Ile Ife; That was outside the holiday times I spent with her. She sent my 21st year anniversary birthday cake all the way from Ife to Suleija where I served!  Her Son , my cousin and name sake [Pastor Bukky Ajide] celebrated it for me. She baked a 25 step wedding cake for me on April 18th 1992 and it was the talk of town in my place. She made my beautiful wedding gown all by herself and with her money and strength. Oh God who can be like my aunty,Mummy Ife, 'Tinuola' . You can't be replaced. God grant her eternal rest, I know you have met with your Sister Beatrice Binuomote. You were my Dad's favourite niece, we loved you but God loves you better, see you at the resurrection day. LOVE YOU MUM.

Dear Mama!
Dear mama, with many attributes. Some called you you mama Ajide, some say mama Igboya, other called you mama Sevenday….But have been calling you Mummy since I was age of 3. Even when my mum was still alive, and after she passed on when I was barely 5yrs, you continue to play the roll of a mother to me. My Journey of life started with you, I could remember the day you sewn my first school uniform and daddy had to take me to school the following day . Thanks you for been you,and thank you for working as a team with daddy to give us the treasure that money can not buy in life which is our love for our creator Jehovah. The fear of God you and daddy inculcated in us has help each and every one of us to have the wisdom to deal with life situations as it comes and as grow up adults. Thank you for taking me with you to attend the prayer warriors section (Afodurajagu) in the church every Tuesday evening and the all night prayer section at Pastor Makonde’ house back then, because that has help me to develop a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father Jehovah.our passion for music and singing meaningful songs came from you. That is why our family was known as spiritually minded people in the Advenst circle. I remember my last visit to Efon, Esa oke, Ere, and Ilare was with you. Am not going to cry too much because you are sleeping now, and on the resurrection day, you will wake up and come back to life (John 11:25).
Good night mummy
I will miss you.

Mama Tinuola Lydia Ajide came into this world did her best impacted many people both young and old that came her way, the rest is now history.
If she had come during the apostolic age she would have been woken up from death by Peter in the same manner that Deborah was woken up for her good deeds
She was a giver, selfless, kind hearted, service render to God first then humanity.
Binuomote my mother believed so much in her and on her part she was loyal to her sister till the end.
Mummy Ife I miss you all the Akinyemi’s miss you and continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord Jesus until we meet to part no more.

To the entire Ajide's family, our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. We know the grief of death is personal but its pain touches us as well. Mummy as fondly called was a good friend our our late mother Christaina Foluso Dare(of blessed memory). She took us as her children and she will forever be in our hearts for all her good deeds. She was indeed a Mother in Israel. As you grief and sorrow, do as one with a hope of blessed resurrection morning for this "death" is but a temporary sleep. We leave you with the assurance of Jesus in the writings of Brother Paul in 1 These 4:16 *For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God,and the dead in Christ will rise first*
May this be your comfort and consolation. Amen

Mummy, you had a very large heart. Your opened your house for everybody irrespective of where one was coming from. You were a mother in Israel. I remembered with appreciation the 12 steps cake you made for my wedding without any payment to mention just one of the numerous sacrifices you made for me and my siblings. You lived an exemplary life. The entire Awoniyi family will miss you 'Mummy Igboya'. Sleep on till resurrection morning.

My Dearest Grandmother
You're irreplaceable and treasured in our heart and you hold a special place right in my heart and that will forever be yours❤
The years will always roll on by
and time will always pass,
but every memory I have of you
will definitely always last.I try to smile when i think of you,I try not to be sad,
with all the good times that we’ve had.But sometimes I can’t help it,
and memories leak out of my eyes,
and I quickly try to brush them away.
To say we miss you does not do justice for what we feel, no amount of tears can express the pain I feel in losing you but then again THANK YOU for the honor of sharing a lifetime with us.
We all knew Grandma walked with God
and bound for heaven to get her reward. No way we can know the lives she touched
because that gracious soul gave so much,
You taught me and taiwo everything I can remember, lots of good memories, you devoted your time to pick us from school (primary till university days).
You were always the one we could all lean on,You were always the strength of the family.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
To hear your voice one last time,
Once more to hear you sing every morning
You told me it would be all right,
Teaching me to be strong,
And not worry when things go wrong,
I know the pain will slowly leave.
You were the best grandmother anyone could ask for, A world without you is unimaginable yet we are now forced to face it,we shall rejoice for you, as you are in a better place .
Your memories will stay,
Your time with us was special,
And it is often replayed.
Rest well my dearest and most loving grandmother
I miss and love you dearly

I don’t think my mind has come to terms with the passing of grandma yet.
What I’ll miss about her the most was her ability to show love in the smallest of ways
With her small hands she would take the time out to call each one of us and prayyyy, send us airtime, snack money, clothe material, not to mention the night wrappers we each got on arrival to her house
Just to mention a few
Her accommodating nature & independence remained steady through the years
She understood that it was the smallest gestures that really mattered
After all, these are the memories left with us.
Rest in Christ Grandma

On getting to Ile-Ife to resume my High School in 1999, Baba and Mama Ajide were one of the relatives I met. Fortunately for me, the rented dormitory where we stayed at that time was at Igboya. We equally attended same Igboya S.D.A Church. Life was just premium for me because I'd run to her to get anything I wanted at the slightest opportunity . Sabbath meals were special at her place, I'd go there with one or two of my friends every Sabbath. She was a good mother with a good heart, she was a mother to a lot of people.
A rare mother that would be missed dearly.
She's definitely in my childhood memories.
Rest on Mama Ajide( Mama Igboya)

When grandma died she took half of my heart with her. Only God is helping me to adapt because you could ask anyone and they would tell you how much I loved grandma. I’m still trying to comprehend how an amazing person could just leave us like that . Well, heaven really got a special one! Not only can she handle any situation but she also has amazing food recipes for whenever you’re hungry like her lovely fried meat and her extraordinary cakes. I don’t know the writer of that song ‘ Jesuloba, to n s’ise iyanu..,but no matter what I’ll say it’s my grandma that made it special because she always sang it for me. She was also always rooting for me no matter who I was up against. She was also one of the people that helped me with my relationship with God just by leading by example. Shes the only one that can take the credit for the fact that my dad is up at 5 am everyday to pray. how I know because she is up at 4am singing and praying. she was also very peaceful. she was the only person I’ve never argued with before - that’s how peaceful she was . O death where is your sting . It was a true pleasure to be her granddaughter. I love you so much and you will forever be in my heart. love, jesuloba - granddaughter

With a pained heart I bid Mummy farewell. It is a great comfort to know that she is resting peacefully in the bosom of her Lord whom she served so faithfully. I celebrated my birthday this year without her calling to pray for me. She was my mother, friend, confidante and , gisting partner all rolled into one and so many memories over the years from Ife to Lagos or church in Brooklyn or home in Jersey as God ordained it to be. Mummy’s early morning worship session would be the first thing heard from her room every morning and after we would talk about so many things. Lots of humor and never a dull moment. She loved dressing up and shopping good deals. Mummy would call her grandbabies in their schools just to say hello and send them airtime for their phones! Whoever touched her grandkids touched the apple of Mummy’s eye because she loved them all so much and was so fiercely protective of them. Mummy’s cooking was second to none and I dare say if you missed tasting mummy’s fried rice, you missed it all! Cooking, baking and decorating were her favorite pastime. Thanks be to God for the times we spent with her. May He grant her eternal rest. Amen - Adebola Ajide, Daughter-in-law.

When I accepted the Seventhday Adventist faith, while at Adventist Grammar School, Ede, Pastor Prof. Joseph Adebisi Ola started Shiloh Echoers, a group of twelve, of which myself was inclusive. Pastor Bukola Ajide was one of us. One of the families that accepted our group and supported us was the Ajide' family. The family contributed to my loving the church. It was fun to be in the home. Mama Ajide was a loving mother, a good example of a Christian mother. The training is seen in the life of Pastor Bukola Ajide. He is a giver and encourages people to do well. Sleep on Mama till the resurrection morning. - Kayode Oyalabu

To My Fabulous Mummy.

Mummy, Abiyamo tooto, I still cannot come to terms with this and somehow hope it is all a dream ! ! I have been told to accept it as it is the only thing to do but I'm still unable to find it within me. It is very strange that I am writing this about you as opposed to seeing you and talking to you. My mother, the one that loved me so dearly and always put me first even before herself, you are a rear gem. I miss you each second of the day and wish you were here with me.
I recollect how you taught me how to fast and pray even after my marriage when I had challenges you continued your fasting and prayer, at times I would got home (Igboya) I would noticed that you were fasting, you would asked me to go and cook so that I can have something to take home for my family, at times you went to the market, bought food stuffs just for me to be okay, you didn't want me to complain of anything, you clothed me,o Abiyamo tooto.
Mummy, you stood for discipline and that I cherished about you and spoke about you proudly to everyone and all my friends. Hardwork was also your motto and you never tolerated any form of laziness or laid back attitude of mine.
I cherished every moment I had with you and I wish I can replay all over again,or even the time we were in the kitchen together cooking and you were teaching and at the same time scolded me if I did wrong.
I just want you to know that everything you taught me and said to me is not in vain and I shall continue to live the legacy and principles you left behind. All the times you were strict on me training me and I kept wondering why? little did I know you were preparing me to become a solid woman. I thank you mum and I am a living proof of you and your testimonies.
I know I prayed hard so you can live long but God understands why He allowed it at this very time.
There are many words to describe you mummy: Determined, Focused, Strong Willed, Beautiful, God-fearing, Dedicated,a fantastic cook, a mentor,a friend,a sister,a cousin,an aunt but above all a wonderful mother.
Mummy ni'gba ojo, Mummy ni'gba eerun Mummy aduro ti ni, Mummy a fini lokan bale.
Till I see you again, love you so much now and forever.

....Mama Biola as my late mother (Mama Sola- late Mrs Janet David ABEJIDE) would always recall her friend turned Sister.
Mama AJIDE mentored me from childhood to adulthood. A selfless, kind and passionate to everyone including her friend (my mother) family. She raised me alongside her children since my parents retired early to Mopa in Kogi state from Seventh Day Adventist hospital services at Ile-ife. She taught me everything I needed to hurdle womanhood since I always spent my holidays with her family throughout my school days including my training period at Wesley Guilds school of nursing Ilesha. She has also been wonderful in the lives of my other siblings as well. She was my Cake Designer during my wedding and was also physically present to anchor the ceremony. She always refer to me as"Sisi Mary " which everyone within the Ajide family still calls me till day. Mama loves giving to put smile on everyone around her. Always willing to help out the needs of others. We will forever miss her so much. Rest in Christ Bosom till we meet to part no more. Rest in peace Mama .

There was a lot of love in Mummy Biola’s life. Even though she is gone now, we know that her legacy will live in all of us. She was an increditable mother who inspired everyone who knew her.
Mummy Biola, your memory will live on in all of our hearts forever. Our lasting memories of mummy Biola are simple: a hardworking, passionate, compassionate, accommodating woman of strength who never wavered in her support and love of her family and who soldiered on, even when times were tough.
Baba and mama Ajide’s house had been home to my wife years ever before our wedding. She remembers with nostalgia their accommodating disposition. She spent all her mid-term holidays with them while at Adventist Grammar School, Ede. Their home was also her port of call for her leave while at School of Nursing, Benin-City.
We can claim confidently therefore that we are the first fruits of the family. She organized our wedding so well that nothing went wrong. A bride maid who paid three days to the wedding got her dress sown.
Daddy Freeman used to call her an incredible woman because the fifty crates of Canada Dry Mineral used for the wedding were returned intact without a single bottle missing.
Mummy Biola was a constant present with cakes at our children’s birthdays. Mummy Biola got to Akure from Ile-Ife at 7:00am with a cake for our 10th year Wedding Anniversary. Her home was our home. She confided in us in all things.
Losing a mother like Mummy Biola is a deeply painful experience especially when you realized that you ought to have done more for her while alive. She was always appreciative of little gestures, that is enough a consolation.
We however thank God that she was a devoted Christian in her life time. Rest on Mama till resurrection morning when we shall meet to part no more.

Mummy Ife like we the Adeoye’s called her. Was full of love, she literally raised all her brothers children. What a blessing and privilege it is to have you as mother. How I idolized you as a child, you were so warm and loving.
You raised me with love and care, instilling all the right and needed virtues to succeed in life. Thank you mommy.
Mommy, you left a remarkable legacy here on earth. You taught us lessons worth knowing both physically and spiritually. When ever I think of you, I think of light. You brought joy to those around you. There was an energy within her a light that never wained. She gifted that to us all that knew her. Am so proud to carry a small part within my heart.
Fare thee well Mummy. You fought a good fight and won the race. You left a legacy that will be read through the generations, current and to come. You will forever be missed.

Mummy Igboiya was a Christian mother described in Titus 2:3-5. She loved God and used every asset she had to serve Him. And bless humanity. I remembered the many cakes, chinchin and special take away foods she gave us anytime we visited as students of University of Ife . A very special help she rendered to the Adventist Students Fellowship in the successful hosting of the Nigeria Association Of Adventists Students Convention in April 1987 even with ONLY three weeks notice made an indelible impression on me to always be willing to go all out for the Master. Mummy is large hearted and accommodating, always interceding on behalf of people. Mama Ajide will be greatly missed. Sleep on Mummy Igboiya until the resurrection morning.

I like to refer to my grandma as everyone’s grandmother and mother because that’s simply who she was. The same way she took care of her children was the same way that she cared for and disciplined her non biological children and even grandchildren. On an individual note, I never felt unloved for even a second, by my grandma. She would call me whenever she could, and sing her specially composed song for me “Tanitoluwa”, when I was much younger, I felt a little funny when she’d sing it but I grew to love and really cherish the song. My grandmother was a songbird. A lot of people wake up to birds singing in the morning but I’m sure that the birds in Igboya got their wake up call from her early morning rendering of hymns and praise and worship. She would call as often as she could and she would even top up my phone afterward. When I was much younger, she would ask me to sleep next to her whenever we visited. My 5 year old self wanted to sleep beside my cousins and sister but growing older I understood that it was an act of endearment which I also ended up loving. Grandma was also very hilarious. Based off the fact that she was an indigene of Ekiti state she would do some things or make some statements that would make everyone laugh without knowing and honestly she used to wonder why I’d laugh so much even though she would end up laughing as well due to the apparent contagious nature of my laughter. My grandmother was always spoiling my sisters and I, from sewing us clothes for the new year to giving us pieces of fish or beef before dinner is ready to even baking us goodies like her special chin chin. She carried on the family legacy of giving to those who are in need and showing love and support in every way possible. She loved the lord and served him diligently in the way she could. She was kind to people, even those who hadn’t necessarily been the nicest to her. She was a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul and I thank God for giving me the privilege of having her as my grandmother. In absentia, Thank you grandma for taking care of me and loving me. We may have been somewhat distant physically but the love was ever present. I love you now and always - Miss Lydia Tanitoluwa Ajide (grand daughter)

Visiting mama as a kid was like a premium Disney vacation package, you never want to leave. Growing up, i learnt from mama the importance of starting and ending each day with prayers. Under mama's watch, having good morals and serving God isn't negotiable, you must know God. Mama's wonderful counsels and emulating lifestyle has helped built and solidify homes and marriages. Talking about trades, mama mastered and empowered, She was everyone's mother and God's daughter. Thank you for all Mama. Omo ibo (as she fondly called me) misses you. Continue to Rest in peace, our MOTHER OF ALL NATIONS.
