"Stop the clocks"

Shared by pauline stanton on October 13, 2011

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bonel, Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come. Let the aeroplanes circle, moaning overhead Scribbling on the sky the message 'He is Dead'. Put crepe bows 'round the white necks of the public doves, Let traffic policemen wear black, cotton gloves. He was my North, my South, my East, and West. My working week and my Sunday rest, My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong. The stars are not wanted now; put out every one, Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun, Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood; For nothing now can ever come to any good."

For You Lynn xxxxxxxx

Many evenings while I was living with you we would sit after my homework and have the (odd) glass of plonc and just chat. sometimes neil or Priscilla would come over and the laughs we would have. later on in the evening we would have our favourite toasted pitta with cheese and crisps...yummy!!!  You helped me so much and gave me so much of your time, like I was one of your own. You never shouted at me, even when I did take the piss..never, it wasnt in you.  Even when myself and Aine D went off in a car with a few lads and they crashed it into a tree, even then you just laughed at me and said "Pol, you silly girl".  Its not the same sat here talking about you, when I could be talking to you. So many of us miss you, especially Meg. I know you are there and it helps, but a hug and that smile would make all things better.  I miss you and I hope you are taking care of everyone up there.  talk to you soon xxxx

NCEF Graduation

Shared by pauline upton on September 26, 2011

This was taken in October 2001 Lyn graduating from University of Limerick NCEF course, best year ever full of laughter, tears panic but most of all fun, with Lyn Pauline and Kate.

This story is from one of Mum's best friends, Pauline Upton.

You do know her favourite movie of all time was four weddings and a funeral, her favourite hymn was little donkey, she used to cry when we sat down and drank bottles of wine at night and spoke about all these things, there is a prayer inside the door of the church on valencia on the wall, i never read it, but she absolutely loved it, even though she hated the priest in that church and is the only reason she did not want to be buried there. She adored Luigi Fish and Chips in Limerick by the station, no matter how late or early!!!! it was when she came to Limerick she had to get them, she loved nestle chocolate, chicken stew even sometimes in that order haha xxxx

Mum's favourite memory

Shared by Megan Sheehan on January 4, 2011

We went to Greece for Mum's 50th birthday in September 2004. On the morning of her birthday,we all sat around the pool to give her all of her presents. We took loads of pictures and played about around the pool. While we were in the middle of all of that a lady sitting on the other side of us called my Mum over. Keeping in mind Mum had never met this woman before! She asked Mum to sit down and told her she had never seen a mother adored as much as we adored her. She said it was so obvious how much we all loved her and told her it was lovely to watch. Mum was so proud and told anybody that would listen and she said that had made her holiday. :) That always makes me smile thinking of that. :)
