Lynn E. Shropshire, a resident of Mullica Hill, NJ, passed away at her home during the week of May 23, 2021. Born in Camden, NJ on February 28, 1947, she grew up in Moorestown, NJ, graduating from Moorestown High School and Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) with a degree in teaching.She taught in the Williamstown, NJ, area schools for 19 years, retiring in 2007 from the Salem City Board of Education.She loved helping children, especially underprivileged ones, reading, snow and cross-country skiing, spring flowers (purple flowers were her favorite). Lynn participated in annual bird counting with the Southern NJ Audubon Society in the Cape May area until a few years ago. She took part in Quaker worship and met at the Woodstown Friends Meeting House. She loved to read and cherished her books; her favorite book was Larry the Lamplighter. Fiercely independent, Lynn was kind, intelligent, and caring.

She is survived by her half-sisters, Mary A. Shropshire (Robert Petrucelli Jr.) and Susan Shropshire (Joseph Bowden), her niece, Lori (Shawn) Poinsett, and her cousin, David Shropshire. Cousins and close friends also survive.

Lynn was the beloved daughter of the late Elwood Y. and Roberta G. Shropshire. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael R. Shropshire, her half-brother, Joseph W. Shropshire, and her cousin Robert J. (Bobby) Gibison.

Her family would like to thank the Harrison Township Police Department for their compassion and support during this difficult time.Remembrances may be made in Lynn’s name to UNICEF.
