Career
Professor Lynn Olzak’s research emphasized the neural mechanisms underlying spatial pattern perception. In addition to research, her teaching positions included a period at UCLA as an Adjunct Professor from 1992-1998 and as an Associate Professor at Miami University of Ohio from 1998 through 2015. Following her retirement from Miami, she and her husband moved to Lafayette, CA, where she was able to maintain her involvement in the field with an affiliation with the UC Berkeley School of Optometry.
She was a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and served as chair of the OSA Vision Technical Group from 1996-1998. ARVO, VSS, OSA, and EVCP conferences were the highlight of her professional life and led to friendships from around the globe with researchers in the visual sciences.
