In your house....

In your house, there's an empty chair
A place you sat so often
I'd walk in the door, see your sweet face
And instantly my mood would soften
At the table, there's an empty place
And it doesn't seem quite fair
We've shared so many meals together
It's not the same, without you there
In your bedroom, there's an empty bed
The place you used to rest
A spot where as a child, I'd snuggle up
And sleep my very best
In my palm there's an empty space
Where your hand laid in mine
Those pretty painted fingernails
Made me smile every time.
In my life there's an empty void
That no one else can fill
You've been there my entire life
I can't believe this is real.
In my heart, there's an empty hole
A part of me is gone
I search and search but can't find it
I feel so alone.
The Lord called you home
And as painful as it is
I know I'll see you again someday
When I place my hand in His.
