Madan Kaura's Temple and Philanthropic Contributions

Madan Kaura was an active member of the Bharatiya Temple in Troy, Michigan and served the Temple for over 4 decades.
During this period, he served the Temple Board of trustees for 2 terms of 3 years each. He served as Treasurer for 3 years, then as chair of the Religious committee for several years to follow. He is responsible for initiating the Seva Committee which was formed to help families in need, and The Outreach Committee.
Alongside the late Ramesh Sharmaji and others, he is the one who started recitation of Akhanda Ramayana during the last weekend of July every year, right after the Temple first became operational.
He was the founder of Bharatiya Family services which was later renamed Michigan Asian Indian Family Services, who's mission was to support local individuals and families in crisis. Madan also started the "PARAM SEVA" through the Temple, the practice of reciting GITA and Hanuman Chalisa for those who were terminally ill in hospitals or at home in the final stages of their lives. He had a passion for helping those in need and for The Ramayana and The Bhagavad Gita. He started the Bhagavad Gita classes at the Temple in the year 2008 which are continuing even now. He also used to conduct a Bhagavad Gita class from his home and via Zoom during the pandemic over the last year.
