1149 days

February 10, 2014
EE! I have been wondering to myself that how could I possibly write stories of 1149 days in a short time! I definitely need more than 1149 days because every single day had multiple stories. Where do I start? From when you smiled for the first time, when you laughed as if you understood everything that I said or from when you would follow my movements with your eyes until your head could not turn anymore! I am stock with so many stories to tell but can not bring myself to tell even one of them because I was meant to tell you these stories when you come of age not write them down! these are our stories, you, me and Dada! If I were going to tell our stories, it would require 2298 days! My heart is so heavy EE. It is so difficult without you! Love you lots sweetheart! Nite nite my Mama.

My 2 weeks with you

February 2, 2014

After talking with you several times on Facetime and failing to show up for the 2010 World cup in South Africa as promised, I decided to come see you finally in December 2012.

I arrived at Silver Lakes on 05.12.2012 at around 10 pm and was told you had waited for me past bedtime and mami had made you go to bed against your will.

Day 1
When you woke up the next morning, the first thing you asked for was if the uncle from Germany had come. With all smiles and joy you came and knocked at my door and we immediately bonded especially because our hair looked alike. Mami asked you if you liked my hair and your answer was: ''yes because it looks like mine''. You left for school later and came up to my room after school to tell me it was your last day of school. You showed me how well you could solve your puzzle and also told me about your birthday, which passed a few weeks before I came.

Day 2
It was your first day of holiday and you couldn't understand why mami will go to work while you were home. You wanted mami to either take you to work or stay home with you. It wasn't easy to convince you to come out of the car. We had a nice time playing on the yard and taking pictures that afternoon.

Day 3
We went shopping with uncle Hanson and I was amazed at how many strangers wanted to greet you. I remember this pretty lady walking up to us just to have a chat with you and I told you going out with you could be a good way to get to meet the beauties of South Africa.:-)).

Day 4
You, mami and grandma went to church and you came back and read your bible to me. You told the story of how Jesus told Zachs to come down from the tree and never to come here again. In the evening we all had dinner with aunty Miriam and uncle Prof who also presented their new car that evening. You were playing with dada's iPad and he told you to bring his 'ipod' back to him and smiled and told him it was not an iPod but an iPad.

 Day 5 till 9

Mami and dada left for work while we stayed home learning how to drive your Range Rover and you wanted to drive right to mami's office. You showed me around the house and helped aunty Frida to clean. You also showed me this great app ''talking robot'' on your ipod and I instantly downloaded it on my iPhone. After mami came back from work, you went to buy bags to pack your things for your trip to Cameroon. You told everyone in the shop you were going to Cameroon for Christmas.  I remember us going to see grandma's doctor and you falling asleep in the backseat of mami's car after eating much of this popcorn, which by the way only you and your mami liked.

Day 10 and 11
You went and did your hair in preparation for Cameroon. Aunty Miriam and I picked you up from the Salon and by the time we got home, to your disappointment, mami and dada had gone out. We spent the evening with Grandma and ma Ngwe. At first you didn't want to eat then you ate a little and then asked for more. We played your puzzle while ma Ngwe did grandma's hair. Grandma later brought you to bed.

In the morning you woke up with a fever and mami thought probably you didn't sleep warm enough. Dada carried you and gave you some medication. In the evening you felt a lot better and we were playing as usual. After dinner you and I cleared the table and you wanted to carry so many plates at once and dada negotiated with you to take once at a time. You ate a piece of 'laughing cow’, which dada bought and then mami brought you to bed.

Day 12
You woke up in the morning and the fever had become more severe. You had just one wish and it was for dada to carry you in his arms. Dada carried you, fed you and gave you medication. Even when you fell asleep you didn't want dada to put you in bed, you just wanted to sleep in his arms. Mami and thought you were taking advantage of the situation so that you could stay in dada's arm the whole day.

I went out to cut my hair later in the day and when I came back dada and grandma had taken you to the hospital. Mami had gone to church that evening so when she came back we both came to the hospital and I had my haircut but you were to tired to comment about my new looks.

Day 12 - 13

After your temperature went up in the night, the doctors gave you oxygen the following morning and you felt a lot better. We spent the whole day with you in the hospital listening to you. After visiting hours were over, you didn't want dada to leave so he told you he was just going to get the car. He stood and I stood up as well and you understood it wasn’t only about bringing the car, so you called him and made him know you understood we were leaving and you said he should at least wait for grandma.

The next day was the last day of my visit and I came to the hospital and kissed you   goodbye.

Thank you for this wonderful memory baby E.

Sleep Tight Angel.
