Mae had such a good and generous spirit. Although we lived on opposite coasts, Mae was there for us.  She and Vern sent flowers and well wishes to Michele during a dark time her life, as well as on special occasions. At Christmas, when MIchele came unprepared for the warm California weather, Mae was ready with short-sleeved tops for Michele to wear. She was such a creative person. Her presence will be felt in our home every Christmas, when Michele brings out the “Santa” wooden spoon Mae made. Mae even put together a “This is your Life” book for her mother in-law (Billie Hawk), which became invaluable for Billie as her memory began to fade. Mae will be missed in many ways, but we are grateful that she was a part of our lives. Her memory will live on in our hearts. Terry and Michele Hawk

Mae was such a wonderful person. She will be sorely missed on this earth. We need more of her in our society. It's great to read about all of Mae's different facets in life from seeing your testimonials. Mae and I go back to our teen years working at the New Canton Restaurant in Whittier way before we made our way in life in many different places. I am grateful that we always stayed in touch, at least by Christmas cards, for all these past 53 years. May she rest in peace and continue to smile on us

Mae & I worked side-by-side for 18 years every day in HR at JPL, and have kept in touch since she retired in 2013. We shared so many memories about our personal lives and job related experiences. I am so glad that I was able to talk to Mae two days prior to her last breadth. She was so positive and upbeat during our conversation. Despite Mae’s discomfort, we still laughed many times reminiscing about our past and recent experiences. Mae and I always got along so well together, and we deeply respected one another. Her positive personality and humor always helped to pull me out of the many down times I experienced both at work and in my personal life. We laughed a lot, and continued to do so, right up to the end. I will always remember you, Mae ❤️.

The world lost a wonderful person when Mae passed on July 30th. It was a joy to have conversations and share stories with Mae. Between her smile and positive outlook on life, Mae will forever leave a lasting impression on her family and friends. You will be missed.

Doris and I met Mae and Vern through the PAPA System and had opportunities to speak with both at PAPA meetings. Mae always had smile to greet us and always took time to talk with us. Mae was warm, welcoming and impressed us greatly because she a 'real'person reaching out and accepting other people. Although time spent with her was brief, she left a hole in our lives that we don't expect to be filled. She will be missed.

Mae was an active member of ECS Valley Division, Tri-cities ACS and one I considered to be a friend to everyone she met. Mae along with her husband Vern, KJ6TAW, were always available to support our missions. She participated in monthly ECS meetings, Radio Operator Awareness training, Baker to Vegas, King of the Hammers and numerous activations in both the field and out of EOC Comm. Mae’s contribution to the success of ECS will be missed.

Your friendship and dedication are missed. Each of us whom had the pleasure of your company are better for knowing you.

Dear Cousin -in -Law Mae,  what a blessing it was to meet you. It is with thanks to your husband Vern, for answering my email on Ancestry, that we got to meet electronically in 2012. Then in 2014 you both stopped for a short visit while you were in Fla  And then we spent an amazing afternoon with you and Vern in Calif.  Our time was short, but we will never forget your smile and friendly disposition. It is so amazing to find out we had so much in common too. I am glad we had a brief conversation prior to your departure to join Our Father in Heaven. You are dearly loved and missed, so until we meet again.....
