Hello! How are you up there? Watching over us all I presume. Life has been odd since you left us. I don’t know whether it was always like this or I just got older since you left. I don’t feel like there’s anything to tell you that you don’t already know so I shall leave you with one simple message. We love you, we miss you and a Happy Birthday! Enjoy the day and if you could leave a sign at around 11:48pm tonight that you did enjoy the day I would be grateful to know. PS. Alastair Cook has retired so I hope you’ve stopped insulting him and blaming him for England’s problems and Utd are still terrible. Love you

Dear Daddy,
You would have been 81 today. Happy birthday in heaven. Almost four years after you left us, not a day goes by when I don’t think of you or something you would have said or how you would have reacted to a situation. We are still frequently told by strangers how good you were to them. I miss you so much but I am enormously proud to call myself your daughter. Thanks Daddy for the good example you set for us. Enjoy your day in heaven. Love you forever. Glenna

Friend to my mother and husband to my mother's best friend. Father to my God-Sister, sisters and brother. You knew me before I did. You were a part of the landscape as I grew to know the world. Always pleasant and welcoming, always a smile, always a well-placed helpful word when most needed. Though departed and off to your reward, you leave behind a priceless legacy in people and in memory. Love!

If I should go before the rest of you
Break not a flower nor inscribe a stone,
Nor when I'm gone speak in a Sunday voice
But be the usual selves that I have known.
Weep if you must,
Parting is hell,
But life goes on,
So sing as well.
