This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Majel Gray, 88, born on June 20, 1926 and passed away on March 1, 2015. We will remember her forever.

Majel Maxine Grubb Gray age 88, of Coalport, was born on June 20, 1926 at Coalport in Knox County, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late George Washington Grubb and Ida Partin Grubb. Majel died Sunday, March 1, 2015 in the Knox County Hospital. She was a member of the Coalport Baptist Church. Majel was a School Cook for the Artemus Elementary School for over twenty years. On August 30, 1946,she united in marriage to Evie Gray. Her husband, Evie preceded her in death. Later she united in marriage to Jim Bays who also preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, Evie Gray and Jim Bays, she was preceded in death by; two sons; Johnny Gray and Rufus Gray; grandsons; Gary Wayne Bargo and Terry Evie Gray; Sisters; Eulah Campbell and Sarah Ruth Lewis; and brothers; Paul, Glennis, Dewey and Granville Grubb. 

Majel is survived by her beloved children; Elmer Gray of London; Judy Ann Bargo of Trenton, Michigan; James Gray and wife, Kathy of Coalport, and Ted Gray of Coalport; her sister; Winnie Sims of Ohio; brother, Tommy Grubb and wife, Martha of Barbourville; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Majel also leaves many other relatives and dear friends to mourn her passing. 

Funeral Services for Majel Maxie Grubb Gray will be conducted at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Glenn Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery with grandsons and friends serving as pallbearers. The Gray family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home Wednesday after 11:30 am until the funeral hour at 1:00 pm. Hopper Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements
