MALAN LEROY THOMAS was born July 9, 1948. Malan was called home to be with our Lord on July 9, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton after battling a brief illness. Malan was born and grew up in Dayton, Ohio with his parents and siblings. He attended Dayton Public Schools graduating from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in 1966. He retired from General Motors after 28 years of service.

Malan accepted Christ as his saviour early in his life and as an adult united with Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church.  His special request was to be baptized again to let the world know he truly understood the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for him. Malan’s greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Malan had a great sense of humor and quick wit and loved sharing his knowledge with everyone.

Malan is preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years Delores Thomas; mother and stepfather, James and  Myrtle Whitlow; father James Thomas; brothers Harry E. Latham, Paul K. Latham, and Timothy J. Whitlow; sister Alice Darlene Jones. Malan leaves to cherish his loving daughter Devona (Victorien) Diandaga; treasured grandson Florent Diandaga of Dayton; sister Judy (William) Daniels of Denver, Co and a host of devoted in-laws, nieces, cousins, and friends.
