Mama, knowing Lanre is having known a part of you. The presence of your children means you live on and yet your Soul rest warmly and peacefully. That is the loveliness and timelessness of life – that you are.

When someone we love dies, we never get to see them again but we will always feel them, because they live on in our hearts and our memories in our smiles and our tears and even though we can't touch them, we will never forget how they touched us. Our mother lives on. Mama, rest in peace until we meet to part no more.

From Temitope Sanda - Odusanwo: I remember with fondest thoughts growing up with  my childhood friend, Lanre (mama's youngest child who some of you call Mary). We fondly call mama 'iya Salami' (mother Salami) or 'mummy mummy' because of her motherly relationships with us and she would respond 'enle eyin Omo e! ' (hello her children! ) We nerver had any dull nor bad moments with iya Salami! We gist about practically everything and laugh together as though we were mates, still maintaining boundaries and respect! Iya Salami will pray, praise, advice, guide and show us directions. We will eat her food and take her 'stuff'. When we return from outings tired and exhausted, she would yell 'e kaabo, alarinka!' (welcome, waka about!) at us. And she is always very appreciative of whatever  kindness you show to appreciate her when we became grown ups. She would pray and pray as if it is more than what you have given. The last time I saw iya Salami was October 2011 when I came home for my mother's burial. She was still the same, ever loving and caring. Sun re o, Iya Salami. Your memories live on!
