Man Chiu was a strong father, husband, and friend. He was always dependable and earnest, with integrity in all things. Throughout his life, many were given the opportunity to relate and befriend a person of character, devoted to what is honorable, right, and true.
For those who knew him best, he had a sense of humor that allowed us to smile in the most serious of situations. There was never a harsh or negative word, but instead, he poured out encouragement, pushing those around him to pursue their lives to the fullest of their capacity.
Man was the best father Michael and Andrew could have ever asked for. He devoted his entire life to his family and never hesitated to sacrifice in any way he could to care for us. Through his deep committment to us, we are confident of his love for us. Even in this most difficult time, admist the tears and pain, we still feel his love and will never forget what he has done for us.
To all Family and Friends: We are so thankful for your outpouring of love and encouragement that has been freely given to us during this difficult time. You all have unceasingly embraced and comforted us through our loss. We cannot put into words our gratitude for all the help and support you have provided.
At this time, our greatest need is your prayers and emotional support. We will need your love and encouragement both now and far into the future, as the loss will take time to heal. Please pray for Man's wife, Laura and his children, Michael and Andrew. Also, it would be of great encouragement to hear from you, so please leave your thoughts, condolences, and encouragements here.

"I didn't know Man very well, but I do know his son Andrew. Man must have been a good father, because his son is an exceptional man. Andrew's friends and I grieve with the family at this difficult, unexpected, and unasked-for time. Praying that the peace of God which defies human understanding will reign in the hears of Laura, Andrew, and Michael, as well as the extended family."
"Man's persona exuded warmth and a sense of calm and peace with everything and everyone around him. Although I did not work directly with him at Nortel/BNR, but I knew of him from others who had, as an extremely bright engineer and a very helpful person.
People like him are rare..
May you rest in peace."

"We always loved to see Man’s smile and enjoyed his gentle accepting nature. The day he treated us to a wonderful Christmas dinner during a difficult holiday season is an evidence of his unselfish, generous nature. Michael and Andrew, Laura and Man’s two sons are even greater evidence of Man’s character. No greater honor could be afforded any man than to have such sons.
To Laura, Andrew, and Michael: (and Katy) May God help you to feel the comfort of His presence in your grief.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2
