SUBRAMANIAN, Mani, 95, passed away peacefully at 12:10pm EDT on Monday, June 4 2012 after a brief illness. Born in 1917 in Arni, India, Mani Subramanian retired as a Judge. He emigrated to the USA in 1985 to live with his sons. Mani is survived by his five sons C.S. Murthi, C.S. Murali, Chetan S. Sankar, C.S. Ramesh, C.S. (Ram) Mohan, five daughters-in-law, seven grandchildren, his sister Lakshmi, and a host of relatives.
Mani lived a grand life, and will be greatly missed. A diplomat even amongst his family, he loved to read and go for a regular walk, rain or snow. He was the patriarch of a large and loving family which he guided with wisdom, experience, patience and love. Born at a time of no electricity, he kept in regular touch with a wide worldwide network via email.
His love of life, great curiosity and unbounded enthusiasm was combined with an infectious, positive and can-do approach. Launching himself fully into all endeavors, he rarely let “no” stop him. In his retired years, he traveled widely around the world, from Africa to Europe to South America, enjoying and exploring with joy and wonder.
A Memorial Service was conducted on Thursday June 7th at 9am at Fluehr Funeral Home, 864 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, Pa (215-639-3130). In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org) or Reading Is Fundamental (http://is.gd/SQBeL6 or rif.org).
