Dear Ram,

Learned through Steve about your father's passing.

Not much to say in such circumstances, except that I am deeply and warmly thinking of you.

My own father passed almost 25 years ago. But parents live in the minds of their children.

Warm regards.

Bertrand

Hi Ram,

I am sure you are getting many notes about your loss today but I will add my own voice to that support.

I am very saddened to see such a great man pass and know how much you will surely miss him.  At the same time I am in awe of the life he lived, how he lived robustly to such a senior age, and the great example he set for all that knew him of courage, morality and a keen, educated mind.  If only we all could be at least a little like him, then the world would truly be a wonderful place.

I wish you and your family all the best I can in this difficult time.

Your friend,

Michael

Dera Chetan & Lakshmi:   Raj, Nisha, Deepa and I are greatly saddened by the passing of our very dear, respected and beloved grand pa I will always miss him.   Our brloved grand pa has become a shining star in our big universe and he will continue to bless all of us.   I have fond memories of meeting him at Shiv's engagement ceremonies. I did enjoy our meeting and having an interesting conversation with grand pa. He was very special. to us and made a difference in the lives of so many. May the rich memories of our respected grand pa who will from now on be ever present with us no matter where we are in his indomitable spirit  which can carry us forward, when perhaps we need a boost to continue to lead our lives with the grace and courage he lived his life in her many roles with verve and vigor.   ISA Upanishad( Last 4 verses): Om! V-15: The door of the Truth is covered by a golden disc. O! Lord withdraw its effulgence so that your devotees may experience You, the Truth beyond its effulgence. V-16: O! Nourisher, lone traveler of the sky, O! Sun gather your light so that I may see through by your grace, that form of yours, which is the most Luminous. I am indeed That, He who is the Purusha who dwells There. V-17: Now that I am on the verge of death, ready to return to the all-pervading Immortal Prana, may my breath be merged into the all-pervading eternal Prana and may this body be reduced to ashes. O! mind, remember all my acts, remember all the lessons of all that I have done, remember… V-18: Last Verse is a prayer to the God of Fire Agni, that which accepts our sacrifice and conveys all our offerings to the Supreme Lord of the Universe. O! Agni, lead us by the fair path that we may reap all the good that we have sown. You know all our deeds. O! Lord destroy all our sins of deceit. We offer our salutations to you.   Om! May God protect us both-the Preceptor and pupil. May Brahman bestow upon us both the fruit of knowledge! May what we both study reveal the Truth! May we cherish no will feelings toward each other. Om Peace, peace, peace.   May Almighty provide strength to you and all of our family members to cope with such a boig loss.   May God provide our grand pa peace in heaven. Warm regards, best wishes and love.   Sincerely,   Raj & Iqbal

Dear Chetan, Lakshmi, Akila, Patrick, and Shiva,

Please accept our condolences on the death of mama. It is with deep regret we read Chetan’s letter about mama’s passing. Mere words may offer little comfort at this tragic time, but know that our deepest feelings of sympathy are with you and your family.  My dad and mom asked me to also include their condolences.

Mama was an embodiment of dignity! When we lived in Shelton Lane, we often saw him walking in the neighborhood, and was a delight to talk to.  Sushil, Neal and I loved talking to him.  We remember him as a person who always smiled and seemed very calm. He seemed content with life and proud of his family’s achievements. Mama, you could see, was a devoted family man, who was fortunate to see his sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren excel in their life and profession. He left behind him a family that appreciates the values he instilled in them and the heritage that he was able to pass on.

I vividly remember him from Chetan’s 60th birthday party where all your family was together, and he had his “This is my family and I am proud of them” look!

With deepest sympathies to you, your brothers and their families,

Latha, Sushil, Neal, Leela and P.K. Ramanathan

Dear Murthy, Murali, Uma, Shankar, Lakshmi, Mohan and Rupa,

We are very sorry to hear the sad news.   I got my basic degree only because of Anna and it was very useful to me. He used to be happy and also made others around him happy. Very enthusiastic, active, cheerful and so very prompt in responding,I don't  think that we will be able to find such a dignified personality in future. He deserved the life he lived through. All of us can try to acquire at least some of his good qualities and that will be the right tribute to him.   Thanks Shyamala.K.R.
