Dear Ram,
Learned through Steve about your father's passing.
Not much to say in such circumstances, except that I am deeply and warmly thinking of you.
My own father passed almost 25 years ago. But parents live in the minds of their children.
Warm regards.
Bertrand

Hi Ram,
I am sure you are getting many notes about your loss today but I will add my own voice to that support.
I am very saddened to see such a great man pass and know how much you will surely miss him. At the same time I am in awe of the life he lived, how he lived robustly to such a senior age, and the great example he set for all that knew him of courage, morality and a keen, educated mind. If only we all could be at least a little like him, then the world would truly be a wonderful place.
I wish you and your family all the best I can in this difficult time.
Your friend,
Michael

Dear Chetan, Lakshmi, Akila, Patrick, and Shiva,
Please accept our condolences on the death of mama. It is with deep regret we read Chetan’s letter about mama’s passing. Mere words may offer little comfort at this tragic time, but know that our deepest feelings of sympathy are with you and your family. My dad and mom asked me to also include their condolences.
Mama was an embodiment of dignity! When we lived in Shelton Lane, we often saw him walking in the neighborhood, and was a delight to talk to. Sushil, Neal and I loved talking to him. We remember him as a person who always smiled and seemed very calm. He seemed content with life and proud of his family’s achievements. Mama, you could see, was a devoted family man, who was fortunate to see his sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren excel in their life and profession. He left behind him a family that appreciates the values he instilled in them and the heritage that he was able to pass on.
I vividly remember him from Chetan’s 60th birthday party where all your family was together, and he had his “This is my family and I am proud of them” look!
With deepest sympathies to you, your brothers and their families,
Latha, Sushil, Neal, Leela and P.K. Ramanathan
Dear Murthy, Murali, Uma, Shankar, Lakshmi, Mohan and Rupa,
We are very sorry to hear the sad news. I got my basic degree only because of Anna and it was very useful to me. He used to be happy and also made others around him happy. Very enthusiastic, active, cheerful and so very prompt in responding,I don't think that we will be able to find such a dignified personality in future. He deserved the life he lived through. All of us can try to acquire at least some of his good qualities and that will be the right tribute to him. Thanks Shyamala.K.R.Anna was a source of strength for all of us, and he will be missed.
