Thinking of Nanny today and always. Love to the family

Marcia was an amazing role model as someone who remained vital, engaged, and interested in people, local, and world affairs throughout her life. I have memories of her leading and participating in LWV meetings and always admired her intelligence and perspectives. A wonderful memory is having dinner with her at Susan Keats', talking life and politics, laughing, and reminiscing about things Winchester. She was quite a woman!

A Woman of Substance

December 3, 2014

I only met Marcia  Barrows Wood once...

It was at Laurie and Scott's wedding on Chebeague Island.  I remember when I met her, I immediately felt an amazing warmth.  She had a sparkle to her eyes and a air of poetry about her.  Articulate, intelligent and loving are the words that come to mind from my encounter with Marcia.  This was not surprising to me  as it was clear  she passed these qualities along to her daughter, Laurie.  I remember thinking....daughter and mother are so much alike.

Even though I did not know her well, I know that she gave to this world  and to her family in an amazing way.  I can see that she was and still is very much loved.  I can see that she brought laugther and joy to all who knew her.

I can tell that Marcia Barrows Wood was and will always be a woman of substance.

My Heart goes out to all of her family and friends in your journey of grief..  My prayer for all of you is that your angels lift you up each day and give you strength as you go through this journey.  My prayer is also that you remember all the joy, memories and love she brought to you.

She is only a whisper away.....she is always near...she is with you always.

Peace and Love to all of you.
