Marcus Grant Henderson, 90, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham after a lengthy illness.

A native of Bessemer City, he was the son of the late Walter Hamilton and Evelyn Williams Henderson. Marcus was a member of Banks United Methodist Church and retired as a salesman from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 15th, 2017 at Banks United Methodist Church by Rev. Mark Gustafson. Burial will follow the service at Carolina Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow the burial in the fellowship hall of the church.

Surviving is his wife Joyce Y. Henderson of seventy years; three daughters, Janice Welch of Cypress Texas, Lynn Smeltz of Franklinton, Ginny Moore of Bunn; two sons, Walter Steven Henderson of Franklinton and Marcus Scott Henderson of Kershaw, South Carolina; two granddaughters, five grandsons, four great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sarah Lynn Smeltz.
