Mother Margaret Colton was born July 2, 1928 to the late Mr. Jimmy and Mother Lena Mae Colton. She was the last of three children.

She attended school at the Zion Hill Community school.

Mother Margaret joined the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She later joined the Mother Board and served faithfully until her health began to fail.

Mother Margaret Colton was a kind and loving person. She was affectionately called “Grandma” because of her nurturing spirit.

Mother Margaret Colton was called home to glory on Friday, January 15, 2016.


Mother Margaret Colton leaves to cherish her memory four children; Joyce, Tony, Stanley (Kathy) and Jackie (Caesar); one son preceded her in death, Eugene Colton; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and three special cousins (Sarah Coverson, Daisy Stegall and Walter Rosser) and a dear friend Jennie Lou Hardaway.
