My memories of Aunt Margaret

March 9, 2016

I can remember Aunt Margaret and I sitting and talking about things I did as a baby that would make her laugh. I remember her love for Elvis Presley and Burt Reynolds but the true loves of her heart were her family. I remember her being there for me to loan me a formal dress for a special event at school and helping me get ready for it. I will forever be grateful for her generosity. She always put her heart in all she did. She had the biggest, sweetest heart that anyone could have. I will always carry fond memories of her in my heart. R.I.P. Aunt Margaret, I love you.

The most beautiful lady.

March 1, 2016

When I think of my aunt Margaret,I can't help but smile! My memories of her are always filled with laughter! One of my earliest memories, are when she and uncle James went to their prom. I can clearly see them standing out in front of our house, she in her beautiful red and white dress, and he in his white tux. I remember as they got into the car to leave, saying to my mom, she's the most beautiful lady, I've ever seen! I can truly still say today, as I take a moment to remember her fondly, that she was and always will be one of the most beautiful ladies, inside and out, that I ever knew! Till the day I see you again, aunt Margaret, I love you, I will miss you, and please say hello to my mom for me!

"Is Santa Claus Real?"

February 29, 2016

Growing older, I had begun to suspect old Saint Nick was something of a farce brought on by listening to random conversations. After carful consideration, I went to my mother to find the truth about his existence. Climbing up into a chair at the dinner table where she was diligently working on Christmas cookies, I asked loudly… “Is Santa Claus real?” She turned to me with a smile and simply asked, “Do you believe in love?” The question puzzled me, but I had to come to one conclusion. I had to believe in love… our family was founded on the love between us. No other family had the bonds we carried for each other that I could think of at the moment. I boldly answered, “Yes ma’am… I believe in love.” She placed her hand on the side of my head and smiled the sweetest of smiles and said, “Then Santa Claus is real. He’s love… pure and simple.” I still remember the warmness of that hand pressed against my cheek and long to feel it again… if just for a moment. I love you so much, Mom!
