Margaret Smith Dickerson, 83 years of age, passed away at her home on Fairport Road on January 13, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Howard Dickerson and her oldest son, Howard Dickerson, Jr.

Mrs. Dickerson has four surviving children, Wanda Sykes of Enfield, Beverly Faulkner, Lisa Dickerson and Scott Dickerson all of Oxford. She had five grandchildren, Phillip Sykes of Raleigh, Jason Faulkner of Oxford, Laura Sykes of Hope Mills, Blair Hicks and Mary Chandler Dickerson both of Raleigh.

Margaret loved her family and friends. She was one of ten children and is survived by seven of her siblings. She retired more than twenty years ago as a cosmetologist. Margaret had a lifetime passion for collecting antiques.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church by Rev. Talmadge Williams and Pastor Bruce Brooks. Visitation will be held prior to the service in the fellowship hall of Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church from 11:30 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. and at other times at the home.
