Aunt Margaret visited us in London, UK on one of her travels a few years ago. She was a very independent guest who didn’t need to eat but spent most of her time sight-seeing. She left the house early in the morning with just an apple and we didn’t see her again till late at night. Also, she loved driving so much that she drove to Scotland and Ireland! During Aunt Margaret’s stay, we wanted to take out for dinner but all she wanted was one of her favourite dishes, ‘pork congee with shredded vegetables,’ which apparently Mum used to make for her. So we naturally had to oblige and thankfully, she loved it. We also have fond memories of Aunt Margaret’s warm welcome when we visited her in St Petersburg on two occasions, one of which was with Mum, Ivy, Ken, Anthony and Nicholas. We remember sharing a basket of deep fried Florida alligator meat at the local restaurant. We will surely miss Aunt Margaret and her Christmas & New Year wishes! Rest in Peace, Aunt Margaret. With Love, Ida, Tony, Aidan & Ryan

As a professional colleague of Dr. Wan, I was able to see first hand...what passion she possessed regarding professional development of herself and others. I was also amazed at the world travels she undertook, sometimes even for an extended weekend. Her last trip to Greece is one such example just mere weeks prior to her passing. She epitomized, living life to the very end. May you rest in peace Margaret.

Margaret and I were great friends whilst I was based in Hong Kong and she was always great fun to be with, and had a brain that was really smart and made challenging remarks and ideas. We kept in contact over the years, and I am sorry she has passed away, as we spoke only a few weeks ago. Such a pity and a loss of a great long term friend.

Gosh. I will forever remember Margaret. She was so supportive and provided well needed guidance to our Toastmasters district in Louisiana. Margaret was smart, professional, so self confident, and most of all a great friend. Both my wife and I looked forward to her visits to our state. We love you Margaret always! David Breaux

My sister Adeline and I met Margaret when she was in high school in Hong Kong. We became good friends, we also had fun sleepovers in our younger years and we talked on the phone for hours. We kept our long time friendship even after we moved to the U.S. Margaret would let me know what she was doing, and as usual, I would admire her spirit and accomplishments. Margaret enjoyed driving and traveling solo, attending university for her Ph.D, writing a book, becoming the Internation Director of Toastmaster. She was a brilliant, smart, very independent woman, nothing was hard for her. She lived her life to the fullest! She will be forever missed.

Our Aunt Margaret was always excited to be traveling and visiting friends and relatives.  She would drive for hours going to various destinations,  even across the dull, monotonous plains of Western Canada! One summer she flew into Edmonton to delight her sister Monica and enjoy time with her nephews, nieces and great nephews, while taking in the Grand Prix and watching other exciting drivers.    Margaret was always smiling, and sharing her generosity and adventures in life.  We miss Margaret dearly and have the hope of seeing her again with the Majesty of Christ. With much love and fondness, Godwin & Ruby and Theophilus (California, USA), Ida & Tony, Aidan and Ryan (London, U.K.), Ivy & Ken, Anthony and Nicholas (Alberta, Canada), Alice, Agnes (BC, Canada)

Margaret was my mentor and dearest friend. We shared a love for self development through Toastmasters and Better Trainers. I learned so much serving with Margaret in Toastmasters District 47. She gave me so many opportunities to develop and grow my skills. The 3rd Thursday of every month will forever hold a special place in my heart. Margaret - You will be forever missed!
