Maria Donado, 82, died unexpectedly April 11, 2021 while on an extended visit to her birthplace of Barranquilla, Colombia.She married her high school sweetheart, Alfredo A. Donado and they settled in the United States. Maria was a proud to be the first-generation to arrive in the United States.They celebrated 62 Years of marriage in June 2020.She had a career for 30 years.

Beloved wife of Alfredo, loving mother of Alfredo Jr., Martha (John), the late Yamilca, Mohamed (Emilce), Ameled (Leona), Nohemi Serrano (Eric), and Maria.Loving abuela [grandma] to Adrian, Elias, Michael, Germano, Cristina, Andrew, Alexander, Joshua, Lorenzo, Selena, Juliana, Tony and 5 great-grandchildren.Also survived by siblings Ehr, Erotida, Jose, Ruth, Uhr, and many nieces and nephews.

It was her family that was her greatest joy. She loved them fiercely and was so proud of them and their families.She taught her grandchildren the meaning of their Colombian roots.

Maria will be remembered for her bright personality and always finding the positive in any situation.She was selfless, giving and caring and had a way of making someone’s day brighter.Maria enjoyed gardening, dancing, and music. Her favorite flower was the Orchid.She especially enjoyed preparing Colombian gourmet meals, and entertaining family and friends. Her thoughts and support of others was inspirational and will not be forgotten. She loved her pet cats and dogs.

Maria will be sadly missed by her loving extended family and friends.Love never let’s go. Our hearts long for our beautiful mother/abuela who’s loving, giving spirit will live within our souls forever. She is with our Lord in Heaven.  May our memory of her be eternal!
