Remembering the times

February 6, 2012

As a young girl, who spend a lot of time in my nan's home, where it was always warm and cozy.I remember there was a chair beside the wood stove, that gave so much warmth, after coming in from a cold winter day.She would sit in her chair, where she would knit, mittens, hats, socks.Oh how she loved her view from the window. She was so sweet.I can remember the time when she would have her dance's at the hall,i think i was a bit older then my sister Sandra, when i would attend them. She would enjoy laughing with the genaration of people that were there. We would go home, and have laughs of the events of the night.Sunday now would come, she would put her time in with my mother, her daughter, where they enjoyed each other's company. Then around 4-5 o:clock would come  she would head home for supper. Her homemade beans and biscuits were to die for, they were the best.Roland,my uncle would always say, look having another biscuit ain't yea,it was never a dill moment when he was around,it was all in good times.Ruby and i would maybe head off down the road for a bit,nan would give us a time to return home for the night,as school would be the next day.Roland would always say to her,"go sit down Marian",or "what for supper today Marian".I think she loved that about him, because she would tell him, "go sit down mom", and she would laugh. Her home was so welcoming to anyone who came to visit.I know she is gone now,but my thoughts and memories of her,i will always treasure. In time we will met again
