Ms. Burkhalter passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Mom will always be remembered for her strong work ethic, loving spirit, generosity, perseverance, determination, and sense of humor. She had an immense love for all of her children and grandchildren and was extremely proud of each one. She had many life-long friends who she cherished as well.

Ms. Burkhalter is survived by her children Glenn Dunlap (Ellen), Donna Dunlap Hall (Stan), Bobby Symonds (Kathy), David Symonds (Jeffery), and Denise Symonds Peppers (Glenn), and grandchildren Eric Dunlap, Cruise Hall, Grace Marie Hall, Justin Ware (Bethany), Riggs Symonds, Jonathan Symonds, Calvin Ross (Katie), Matthew Peppers, Caleb Peppers, Benjamin Peppers, and Jacob Peppers, as well as two great-grandchildren Jameson Ware and Florence Ross. She is also survived by her brother Richard Burkhalter (Jenny) and sister Joyce Whitfield (Gary). She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear, special friends.
