Marie Wilson Thomson passed away March 6, 2014 at age 87.  Marie was born Sept. 4, 1926 in Granville County, NC to the late E. Randolph Wilson and the late Jessie Blackwell Wilson.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, James Andrew Thomson and a brother, Edward Randolph Wilson, Jr.

Marie began her teaching career in Stovall, NC.  She continued teaching for an additional 30 years at Washington Elementary School in San Diego where she taught 4th, 5th and 6th grades.  She met the love of her life, Jim, in San Diego, and they were wed June 16, 1962.  Marie and Jim were faithful members of the Naval Base Point Loma Chapel for over 40 years.

Marie was quick with a smile and made friends wherever she went.  Those who knew her will always have a kind word to say and a story to tell.  We love her more than we can say.  She will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish fond memories include stepson Scott Thomson of San Diego, sister-in-law Ellen Wilson of Burlington, NC, her aunt Nellie Grey McFarland of Oxford, NC, nieces Cynthia Johnston and husband, Kirk and Bonnie Stewart, husband Tim and great-nephew Joseph , all of Charlotte, NC. 

A graveside service will be held March 17, 2:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford, NC.  Eakes Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
