ForeverMissed
Marietheresia Manka Nche was born on June 6, 1969 in Bamenda, Cameroon. Marie was the second of six children to Magdelene Nche. She spent most of her life under the care of her grandparents, Wilfred Nche and Lucia Nche. Marie went to primary school in small mankon Bamenda and continued her secondary education at CCC Mankon Bamenda in 1976. Marie then left school and pursued her dream as an entrpreneaur.  She went to beauty school and graduated with flying colors. She opened her own salon (Wil and Lu)  and her business was booming. Because of how well business was going, most of her siblings had to join her to work in the salon. She then married Richard Fonji in 1994. They later had three daughter. She was very courageous, God fearing, loving, hard working, and generous. Theresia loved to cook a variety of Cameroonian dishes especially, Achu, Khati Khati, and bitterleaf soup. Many people enjoyed her delicious meals, her giving and welcoming attitude.
In 2001, Marie migrated to the United States of America to join her long time friend and sisters Caroline Muforsi and Horstensia Che. Marie is a mother of five children and was later accompanied in the United States by them in 2006. Geraldine Nche, Elvis Nche, Adele Fonji, Shearon Fonji, Courtney Fonji and her now ex-husband, Richard Fonji arrived in the United States to get the opportunity for a better life. While in the United States Theresia continued to pursue her knowledge and interest in taking care of others. She got certified as a Nursing Assistant. Later, she went to cosmetology school and graduated in 2007 with an Associates degree. Marie was a person who wore many hats: she was an amazing cook, a wonderful hairstylist, a faithful friend, a humanitarian, and a caring mother and grandmother. She lived to watch all her kids graduate and was blessed  to witness her three oldest children get married in the same year. Marie has three grandchildren Amir, Braydon, and Chiara and found pleasure in taking care of them. She attended St. Nicholas catholic church and later became a comitted member of the Catholic Women Association which she loved dearly.
On April 28, 2021, she was rushed to the hospital and was later diagnosed with a stroke on the left side of her brain. After some improvement and sign of recovery, the doctors discovered that she had another stroke on May 8th on the right side of her brain which left her completely brain dead. After lots of prayers, the doctors had no choice but to take her off life support and on Monday May 10th 2021, our loving mother, grandmother, friend, sister, and daughter took her last breath. She is so dearly missed by many and will never be forgotten.

Mom! Surprisingly Short was your time on earth and with us, a gentle reminder to us all, that we are never in control of time and that our Trust should be in God. I was and I am still a silent admirer of the Love and trust you had in God, through Jesus Christ. Visibly you have taught us by your life, the Virtues of Patience, Faith, hope and Charity. By these, your legacy will light ON forevermore! and in the hearts of the children you raised. Our prayers go out to your entire family in this time of great sadness.
A mother’s love is alive forever!

Ma T I do not even know where to start, what to write even. Your passing has left us speechless. Your fine smile, story teller you were when you did my hair. You are one of the only persons that did my hair and talked about hair style and face shape. It was always exceptional and eye catching to many. It was different.
You took time..I missed you when you doing it. I am missing you already. We were talking at a funeral recently this year, little did I know that will be our last face to face conversation or last time see you face to face.
Your time to really start enjoying your hard work you just go you Ma T? Chaii.Holy Spirit please comfort mami, Elvis, Gera, Adele, Sharon, Courtney and entire family. You leavr your grand children for who eh? Rest in perfect peace my friend and sis..Gone too soon but will not be forgotten. We will not mourn like those without hope in Christ Jesus. You will resurrected on that day. Adieu sis

Gera's 'fine big sister' that's who I thought you were the first day I met you.You became a mother to myself and many others therafter.Oh how you opened your doors to  us anytime.I choose to have fun memories of you because you always wore a pretty smile .
I remember how you would let Gera and I in to your kitchen to cook whatever we wanted to cook.
I still remember  how pretty you looked on Gera's wedding day and I jokingly said you shouldn't look prettier than the bride else the groom might be mistaken.
I remember telling Gera how God has been so good to you so much so that you gave your two daughters in marriage within months, welcomed a bride for your son and above all carried your three grandchildren.Who says God isn't good in this instance.

My heart sank the day I learnt you were not doing well and I prayed to God to give you many more years to see your great grandchildren but he had better plans for you.You loved your kids unconditionally and I know you will love and protect  them even more with your heavenly wings.
Rest in peace pretty Mummy Therese.
