Andy has asked me to add his tribute, He said he had worked on Marions garden for many years, and he is still taking care of it, he said he is always expecting the bell to ring, like it used to when lunch was ready, Andy says she was always kind to him and he will always remember her.

Father Christmas

September 21, 2011

From the word go, "God's Truth" was a very important expression in our family. When you or Daddy suspected I might be fibbing about something, the dreaded "God's Truth?" was sure to bring out the truth. At a very early age I turned the tables on you with this. I used to love Christmas -- I always got the presents I wanted and more besides -- but I had this thing about Father Christmas. It just didn't make sense to me, the flying reindeer business and getting down the chimney and being able to give presents to every child in the whole world. So one year -- I think I was five, we were at Bentwaters Base -- I sat you down and asked you if Father Christmas was real. You replied, "Of COURSE!" Then I said, "God's Truth?" I can remember the look on your face You didn't have to say a thing. From then on we still practiced the Father Christmas sham (after all, it meant more presents!), but I didn't have to worry about a creepy old stranger sneaking around my bedroom in the dead of night.
