Today is the 7 year anniversary of "the event", the day my husband officially passed beyond the veil due to a blood clot.

He was revived, after several attempts and back and forth, but never fully came back as too much brain damage and other injury. We said our final goodbyes on the 13th.

I believe he made the deliberate choice to come back to his body, if even for a few days, to allow our family and friends time together with him and to better cope with what lay ahead.

But this morning marks seven years from our last conversation, our final hug.
I thank God every day that it was a "real hug",not just some fast goodbye. We hugged a big bear hug that lasted a while, sat at the table for a moment, then parted to go our way.

Of course, if I had known it was to be the last hug, I would have held on to him for as many hours as remained in his life...
