Mr. Mark Anthony Mahaley (Tony) was the second of four children born to Freida Lee Mahaley and the Late Jack Mahaley on March 21 st , 1959, in Dayton Ohio.
Mark was educated at Whittier Middle School in the Dayton Public School System. He received his highschool diploma from Dayton Dunbar High School. Affectionately known as Tony. Tony was a gentle soul with an easy smile.
He had a passion for the holidays – particularly for Christmas. Each Christmas you could find the house inside and out full of lights, decorations and at least 3 fully decorated trees – living room, basement and of course his bedroom.
He also loved his Disney collection. He must have had several copies of every Disney movie. It was truly amazing and totally fit his personality. His quirky sense of humor never failed to amuse and delight his family. That will be missed.
He was dedicated to his job at the Dayton Public Library and loved to be around so many books and he loved working with his team. Tony’s gentleness and kindness endeared him to every one that came into his life. He was truly a special soul that will be missed. Tony was preceded in death by his farther – Jack.
He leaves to honor his memory his mother Frieda L. Mahaley, one sister – Jacquelyn Floyd of Dayton Ohio, two brothers, Steven L. Mahaley of Dayton Ohio, and Michael L. Mahaley of Oakland California. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday August 5, 2023 at W.E. Lusain Funeral Home: 2060 Germantown St. Visitiation begins at 11am followed by a 12pm service.
