As each day passes , I realize having Mark as my cousin was a blessing from God, I have so many wonderful Memories of us growing up as kids and the great sense of humor he always had, even when he was so sick.
He left all of us with lots of great memories and laughs. One I will never forget, is the time we all went to ceder point for a family vacation and camping,

Pink Heals

June 22, 2013

Who says a pink ambulance can not be named after a Man.  My dad Mark Tanner lived an amazing life!  He fought with all he could against esophageal cancer and lost the battle  just after a few short months of being diagnosed.  My dad was the most amazing dad, grandfather and husband any man could dream of being.  No matter what my whole life I remember him always working so hard to provide for our family.  He always made sure we knew we were loved, and always took care of us.  My dad was so proud of all his grand-kids wore t-shirts so the whole world knew he was a proud Poppy! My dad was the most loved man and touched many lives during his lifetime.  He always had the best Christmas display in our front yard, people would even drive from Chesapeake to show their kids all of the blow ups on our yard.  I am sure our yard should have only had 3-4 but my dad always squeezed in more.  He not only did it for his grand-kids but he did it for other families to enjoy too.  When my dad passed away his funeral was spent with everyone telling amazing stories about the lives he touched and changed. Our neighborhood was so saddened to hear about his death and we even had families we didn't know write us letters about how his crazy Christmas decorations became a nightly family ritual for their kids growing up. My dad Mark died at a young age of 51 and left behind a Wife, 3 kids and 6 grandkids.  He would be elated to have his legend continued on by an ambulance being named after him (even a pink one).  Please consider my dad Mark Tanner!  If you could have only met him yourself you would understand what an amazing man he was.

Thank you, Matthew Tanner
