Mark Paul Shak was born on August 28, 1964 in Monroeville, Pennsylvania to Steve and Betty (Blozik) Shak who preceded him in death.

Mark was a graduate of Gateway High School in Monroeville.  He also attended University of Pittsburgh, Boyce Community College in Monroeville, and Clemson University in South Carolina.  He also obtained numerous computer certifications.

Mark was an avid reader and very involved in AA and the recovery process.  He admittedly had an alcohol and drug problem that he overcame and was living 8 years in recovery.  His faith became first and foremost in his life.

Mark is survived by 2 brothers, Barry Shak (Michigan) and David (Mary) Shak (Lima, Ohio); Nieces and nephews:  Jennifer Lindahl (Michigan), Nicholas Shak (Michigan), Steven Shak (Military), Amanda (Rick) Craven, Becky (Andy) Romero, and Greg (Rena) Shak (all from Columbus, Ohio).  Great-nieces and Great-nephews: Elizabeth, Lexi, Aubrey, Carson, Cole and Savva.

Mark lived and worked in South Carolina, Michigan, North Carolina then settling back in South Carolina.
