Hello to all of Marlene's family,
It is touching to see Marlene's photo once again. It is so like the way I remember her; smiling, elegant and looking directly at you. She had great energy and warmth wherever you saw her; in the bakery, entertaining at home, at the wonderful 50th anniversary party or when visiting friends. I am grateful to have known her.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marlene at Guenther's 50th birthday party. She was a lovely and friendly person and a very proud Mom! Sincerest condolences for Marlene's sudden passing.

Remembering Marlene

Shared by Martha MacGray on August 1, 2016

I first met Marlene many years ago through mutual friends. She and Wolfgang ran Georgian Bay Bakery back then. I visited the Bakery and got to see her at work.  How does she do it, I wondered.  Be so elegant and cool while providing the stream of customers with delicious breads, pastries and more.  Luckily for me when she and Wolfgang came to visit my cottage, they brought some with them!

They entertained me on summer days at their home in Perkinsfield and later in their retirement haven in Midland. The conversation was always warm, and filled with laughter too.

The highlight of our friendship was being included in the wonderful celebration she and Wolfgang had for their 50th wedding anniversary in October 2013.  She looked so beautiful, and with Wolfgang, daughter Erica and son Geunther and their families shared with their many friends and fellow church members, the photoa and stories of their lives.  It was a priviledge to be there, and to be a friend of Marlene's.

Social committee Bowling Green Estates

Shared by Diane Malott on July 25, 2016

Marlene was an active member of the social committee, a hard worker and was just so nice all the time. Her baking was amazing. The members of the social committee are just so sad and shocked to have lost her and her smile.

My husband I extend our deepest sympathies to her family and we will always remember her.
