Martha Ansaldo, (nee Lange), born December 24th, 1934 in Camden, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Martha and Joseph Lange of Laurel Springs and sister of Rosemary Cuthbert, Joselyn Kayati, Anne Mazza, Peter Lange, Joe Lange, Carl Lange, Theresa Picciotti, Marleen Koerwer, Timothy Lange, and Linda Greenwood. She married her dear husband Salvatore (Babe) Ansaldo in 1976. She was the proud mother of W. Daniel Ziegler and grandmother of Daniel M. Ziegler. She was also treasured aunt to 33 nieces and nephews, as well as endeared by countless friends.

Martha (Marti) graduated from Camden Catholic high school in 1952. She was an active member of the orchestra based in Williamstown and performed in many recitals as an accomplished pianist. Throughout her life, she would play the piano and the organ, entertaining family and friends with complex compositions, as well as holiday favorites.

After graduating from high school, Marti worked with her sisters, Rosemary and Joselyn, at New Jersey Bell Telephone company, where she became highly regarded as an expert with the comptometer. Her skills lead to many promotions during her 13 years with the company. Then in July 1965, her one and only child was born, Danny. She took great care in raising a clever, thoughtful, hard working boy.

In a beautiful wedding, surrounded by her family, Marti married Babe Ansaldo, whom she loved and cared for until his untimely death a few years later. She kept his memory alive eternally by recounting his generous spirit and displaying his photos in every room in her home.

In the early 80s, Marti began a new career with Home Interiors, a direct sales company specializing in home decorating. Marti gained inspiration from founder Mary Crowley whose noteworthy sayings she often repeated, including “If it’s to be, it’s up to me.” Her career spanned more than 25 years with Home Interiors during which she was awarded many honors and presented with recognition for her noteworthy sales and unrivaled commitment.
Traveling across the country, to the west and the south and back again, with her son, Danny, Marti told stories of the people they met, the mishaps, the lifelong memories. For many years, they spent the Christmas season at Walt Disney World in Florida. For them, it was the most wonderful place on earth. When Danny had his son little Danny, Marti's heart grew again and she proudly devoted the rest of her life to her grandson.
Marti was a child of God who trusted in Him through Faith and daily prayer. She grew up in a Catholic family, and maintained a close relationship with St. Mary’s Church in Williamstown. Her kindness to every member of her family, friends near and far, and even strangers need not reciprocation as it was in her nature to care, to love, and to listen.
She will always be remembered for her beauty and grace under every circumstance, her head to toe style on every occasion, an effervescent smile, and an authenticity that’s hard to find. Marti’s reputation for loving unconditionally and touching the hearts of all she encountered precedes her and will follow her.
A celebration of Marti’s life will be held in October. Please email tead0g@yahoo.com for more details.
