EVery one who knew Martin knew that he was a joker. He was absolutely devoted to his football club Erith & Belvedere famously known as the Deres. He was the director there. He loved the club and all those that were part of it such as John and Linda McFadden.

He was well liked and was famous for not being able to hold his drink. He would suddenly become the class clown. He was lovable loyal kind and generous. He used to take the Micky out of me but he didn't know what he was up against. I used to give it back to him. We just bounced off each other. He was a right character but he was charming.

Everyday he told me he loved me and l did too. My last words to him were exactly that. He stole my heart in such a big way and the time l spent with him were the happiest days of my life. I loved him With a passion.
