Martin Demel, 51, of Levelland passed from this life on September 22, 2017 in Snyder. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Krestridge Funeral Home. A Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at Saint Philip Neri Church in Pep, Texas. Burial will follow in the Saint Philip Cemetery.

Martin was born September 21, 1966 in Littlefield, Texas to parents Norman Carl and Edna Faye (Hardin) Demel. He was raised in Pep, Texas on the farm where he tinkered on motors. Martin attended Pep and Portales schools, and graduated from Whiteface CISD. 

He studied electronics at South Plains College. After graduating from SPC, Martin married Dana Nugent on June 20th, 1987. They moved to Lubbock where he continued studying in the electrical field. He worked at Neco tearing down transformers; and South Western Electric learning electrical codes, types of breakers and wires.

Shortly after their first son, Jerry Calvin Demel, was born on December 8, 1990, the family moved to Pep to help with the farm. On October 15, 1993 Carl Gene Demel was born. Martin went to work for an independent contractor wiring houses, buildings and what else he could find. 

In 1995, Martin started his own business, A-Kilowatt Electric and worked all over the state. On September 15, 1997, Jason Ethridge Demel was added to the family. Martin continued building his own business for 10 years. Trae Arron Demel was born September 4, 2006. 

After homeschooling the boys for 3 years, Martin went to work for Bryant Electric, and settled down in Sundown and at Pep. On September 22, 2017 he passed away from this life working in the oil field wiring and programming pump units. 

Martin will be greatly missed by all that he came in contact with, but everyone that knew him knows where he is. He has gone home to our Heavenly Father's House.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Matthias (Matt) Demel. 

Martin is survived by his wife, Dana; sons, Jerry, Carl, Jason & Trae Demel; brothers, Johnny (Mitzi) Demel and LaFeyette (Nancy) Demel; Dana's parents, Gene & Elnora Nugent; and numerous nieces and nephews.
