Marvin Ferdiand was born to Joseph and Anna (Knust) Kampschneider on August 31, 1922. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School at Olean. He joined his father in the operation of the family farm.

Marvin was drafted on August 29, 1944. He entered the Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Marvin completed his basic training at Fort Riley, Kansas. Later Marvin was transferred to Camp Beale, California. He continued with Inf. Training as an Airplane Propeller Mechanic. He was assigned with the Air Engineering Squadron in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations.

His discharge paper terms the location of his deployment as the Kyukus Okinawa and is among the Kyukus Island chain leading to Japan. Marvin was in Okinawa front lines for 10 days. Those 10 days were bad. He got sick and was sent off the lines. Marvin was assigned Occupational Duty in the Pacific at the close of the war and stayed in the PTO. He boarded a ship on August 18, 1946 for an 11 day cruise back to a CaPort. For his service in the PTO he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the WWII Victory Medal, the Army of Occupation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Upon returning to the Dodge area, Marvin resumed life as before.

Marvin and Marie (Hunke) were married April 16, 1947 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Monterey. They began living and farming on a farm in Monterey Township, Cuming County in 1952.

Marvin and Marie raised their family: Duane (Lynn) of Omaha, Sharon (Rollie) Bacon of Vilonia, AR, Dale (Louanne) of Dodge & Jolene (Mark) Steffensmeier of Dodge.

Marvin died on November 15, 1985. Marie retired in to Dodge, NE.
