Marvin was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Pilger to George and Rosa (Bleckwehl) Buhrman. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Pilger. He attended District 46 Country School. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946 during World War II as a Seaman 1st Class.

On Oct. 6, 1946, Marvin married Evelyn E. Fullner at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner. To this union, six children were born. Marvin was a lifelong farmer in the Wisner area until his retirement in 1997.

He was a proud member of the American Legion. He served on the board of School District 49 and the Wisner Senior Citizen Board. After Marvin retired, he enjoyed woodworking projects and playing in the senior pool league. He liked making special trips to the farm and driving around the countryside looking at the farmland. Most of all, Marvin loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Evelyn Buhrman of Wisner; sons Gary (Bev) Buhrman of Wisner and DeVern Buhrman of Norfolk; daughters Karen (Roger) Duncan of Pilger and Lois (Dan) Fees of Omaha; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers Leland Buhrman of Fremont and Raymond (Judy) Buhrman of Fremont; and a sister, Christina Peters of Scottsbluff.
