Her Life
January 31, 2012

Mary was born on November 21, 1929 to Helen and Grover Gritton.  She had three brothers, Dale, Lloyd and Gene.

Mary was born and raised in the Salt Lake Valley of Utah where she graduated from West High School in 1947. She loved life and was very active rollerskating, dancing, riding the roller coaster at Saltair and enjoyed going to Black Rock Beach.

She enjoyed many jobs.  She worked at Woolworths, was a car hop at a drive-in, and was a floral designer at a flower shop, just to name a few.  She even designed parade floats for The Days of 47 and won two tropheys.  But her most important and very favorite job was that of wife and mother.

Mary married Don Carson on June 21, 1949.  Together they had two much loved sons, Randy and Gaylen.

Mary was the proud grandmother of Ryan, Adam and Monty and great-grandmother to Dylan, Ashton, Eli, Aidan, Zack, Nate, Max, Sammy, and Megan.

In her later years she so enjoyed making Sunday dinners for her son Gaylen and his wife Sue.  She loved her frequent visits from her grandson, Ryan and his family, Lori, Ashton and Dylan.
