My favorite memory of my mother is walking in the rain in Brooklyn on Montague Street.  I had just moved to New York, and she came to visit me from California.  It was her first time in the city.  I needed a new pair of shoes.  So we walked about two miles to the promenade at the end of Montague street.  It started to rain and we laughed and sang walk in in the rain all the way home.
