Her Life
January 31, 2014

She cherished her family and her friends.  She gave birth to eight (8) children and proudly holds dear to her heart all twenty-four (24) of her grandchildren.

She lived to see the birth of two great grandchildren.   Mary committed her life to Christ at an early age and she spent the last years of her life faithfully attending Branch Hebron Baptist Church.  She loved the Lord and fostered and enjoyed a personal relationship with Christ until her passing.  She retired from Kmart Warehouse in Newnan Georgia and spent the rest of her life loving, guiding, and nurturing her family.

Mary was preceded in death by, Robert L. Ford, her husband and best friend of forty-seven (47) years just a little over 30 days ago.  She also endured the home going ceremony of two (2) brothers and the lost of one Great Grandchild, Alexi’una Gates.

She is survived by her eight (8) loving children, one (1) son and seven (7) daughters, all of whom are left to cherished in the legacy left by their parents:  Robert J. Ford of Sharpsburg, Lizzie Kate Minniefield (Jamie), Barbara Ann Russell (Thaddious) both of Lagrange Ga, Sarah Frances Ford, Mary Ann Ford, Priscilla Ann Ford, Tonya Reeves (Bobby) and Sonya Harris (Christopher) all of Greenville Ga.  She is also survived by two (2) brothers Stanley Lockhart (Carolyn) of Butler Ga, and Joe Louis Lockhart (Sandra) of Atlanta Ga, and one sister Estella Dozier (Johnnie) of Greenville Ga.  She also leaves to mourn two brother in laws and eight sister in laws: Roy Lee Ford (Rochelle), Warren Dozier (Rosa), Johnnie Prather, Christine Parks (Larry), Mary Hines (Rubin), Virginia Stargell, Lola Mae Ford, and Catherine Dozier all of Greenville Ga, Sonya Dozier of Talbotton Ga. and Mary Ann (Jimmy Lockhart deceased) of Woodbury Ga.  She also leaves aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to celebrate her life.  She leaves behind several very special friends that will surely miss her: Ms. Tabatha Ford, Ms. Annie Gray, Ms. Essie Robinson and Ms. Hazel Thompson.
