During our lifetime, we often meet people whom we can never forget. Mrs. Mary Gladys Geter Echols was one such special person. I remember her as a lady of class and dignity. I am very proud to say that we were classmates.

My prayers, and condolences go out to her family.

My cousin was beautiful inside and outside. I will miss our talks. You were there for me after the passing of my mother and especially after the passing of my husband. Your heart was true. I will miss you. Rest now in heaven. Love your first cousin Jeanette.

I remember Ms. Mary as one of my God mothers. She always gave me the word God and took me to church on several occassions. She will always be remembered as one of my favorite people.

I was very saddened by the passing of Mrs. Echols but also rejoiceful because I knew she knew the Lord. She would travel by foot or by bus never took rides from others. I recall one day seeing her in the peachtree center food court on my way to work. I stopped to have a chat with her and she had just bought some fur boots and she was in good spirits. She had a very good memory. Often recalling my family members birthdays, names and asking about their well being. Mrs. Echols would often attend Colonial Hills community meetings and events. She attended bible study on Wednesdays and often attended church service at Mount Glory. Gonna miss seeing you around. See you again one day. REST IN HEAVEN MY SHERO

Afterglow

"I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve.
to dry before the sun
of happy memories
that I leave when life is done."
